1. Information we collect
We collect only what's needed to run the app:
- Account details — your handle, display name, email address, and (if you provide it) a phone number, plus a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Push tokens — if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send match and stand alerts. We do not use this for advertising.
- Content you create — chat messages, roasts, comments, AI roast prompts, memes, drops, and profile info you choose to share inside the app.
- Photos you choose to upload — only when you explicitly attach one to a chat, meme, or profile. We don't access your photo library otherwise.
- Contacts — only if you grant permission on the invite screen. We send your contacts' email addresses to our server to check which of them already have a Criccasm handle, so you can add them as friends. Those addresses are used for that check only and are not stored on our servers afterwards. Contact names and phone numbers never leave your device — tapping Invite opens your own SMS or email app. You can decline, and the rest of the app works normally.
- Live match data — scores and commentary are pulled from third-party cricket data providers and shown to everyone; this isn't personal data.
2. How we use it
- To run your account, sync your chats and games, and show you live scores.
- To generate AI content — when you use the Roast Desk or meme generator, your prompt is sent to our AI providers solely to produce that response. It isn't used to train their models on our behalf.
- To keep the app secure, including basic rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising or ad-tracking SDKs inside Criccasm.
3. Who we share it with
- AI providers — to generate roasts and memes, your prompt text is sent to the AI service powering that feature.
- Live score providers — to fetch match data; this is a one-way pull of public cricket data, not a data share about you.
- Cloud infrastructure — our servers and database run on standard cloud hosting, used solely to operate the app.
We don't share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else outside the operation of the app.
4. Your choices
- You can edit or remove your email, display name, and avatar at any time from your profile.
- You can revoke contacts or photo-library permission at any time from your device settings — the app keeps working, just without friend-matching or photo uploads.
- You can request account deletion in-app, which removes your profile, chats, and uploaded content from our systems.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records for legal or security purposes.
6. Children's privacy
Criccasm isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. You must confirm you are 16 or older when you create an account.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
