1. These rules form part of the contract
By creating an account, posting a roast, leaving a comment, using the Roast Desk, uploading a meme or photo, or otherwise using Criccasm (the “Service”), you agree to these Community Guidelines together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Guidelines apply to every surface of Criccasm, including the live desk, Pavilion, roast battles, comments, memes, profiles, handles, avatars, bios, Googly games, and any other place a user can publish or generate text, images, or audio.
They also apply to prompts you send to any AI feature. “The model wrote it” is not a defence.
2. The crease: roast the cricket, not the person
Criccasm is a cricket pavilion. We want Hinglish banter, gully humour, and stadium-friendly sledging of the play.
In: roasting a shot, a plan, a review, a death over, a dropped catch, a captain’s field, a pitch, or a statistic — including sharp, loud, or unkind comment on the cricket itself.
Out: attacking a person. If the target is identity, body, family, religion, caste, gender, sexuality, nationality, disability, private life, or a user’s worth as a human being, you are out — even if you wrap it in a cricket joke.
The test we apply is simple: would a reasonable pavilion still recognise this as comment on the cricket, or is it abuse of a person? If it is the latter, it is a violation.
3. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not post, comment, generate, request from AI, share, link to, or otherwise distribute any of the following (this list is illustrative, not exhaustive):
- Abuse and harassment — insults aimed at a person, bullying, intimidation, pile-ons, dogpiling, or encouraging others to attack someone.
- Hate — content that attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar characteristic.
- Threats and incitement — threats of violence, death threats, or content that incites harm.
- Sexual exploitation and child sexual abuse material — including any sexual content involving a minor. Zero tolerance. Immediate termination and report to law enforcement.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery and sexual harassment.
- Doxxing — publishing another person’s private contact details, address, identity documents, financial information, or similar without lawful authority.
- Impersonation — pretending to be Criccasm, Technoavi, another user, a player, a board, a broadcaster, or any other person or brand.
- Spam, scams, phishing, malware, unauthorised advertising, or attempts to harvest accounts.
- False and defamatory statements published to harm a person’s reputation, including rumours about a private individual dressed up as banter.
- Infringement of copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Illegal content under the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and any other applicable statute.
- Ban evasion — creating a new account after a warning lock or termination, or using another person’s account to return.
- Service abuse — scraping, reverse-engineering, attacking, or disrupting the Service or other users’ access to it.
Coded language, dog-whistles, memes, and emoji that a reasonable reader would understand as the same as a prohibited insult still count.
4. Roasting and commenting — specific limits
- Stay on the cricket. Punch at the play, not at the person.
- Disagree with a take. Do not hunt the user who posted it.
- Do not use a handle, avatar, bio, or display name to abuse, impersonate, or hate.
- Do not tag, mention, or quote someone solely to pile on.
- AI Roast Desk and meme tools: you are solely responsible for the prompt you submit and for any output you publish. You must not prompt the model to produce prohibited content.
- Repeating a rumour as fact about a private individual is not banter.
- Players, officials, and public figures may be commented on in respect of their cricket and public performance. That licence does not extend to abuse, hate, threats, or intrusion into private life.
5. Enforcement — one warning, then termination
Criccasm may remove or disable access to any content at any time, with or without prior notice, where we reasonably believe these Guidelines, the Terms, or the law have been breached.
Ordinary first overstep. For a first offence that is not a serious violation, we will issue one written warning to the account (in-app, by email, or both). That warning is recorded against the account. You receive one warning only. There is no second warning and no further courtesy notice.
Next offence. Any further violation after that warning — of any kind under these Guidelines or the Terms — results in immediate and permanent termination of the account.
Serious violations skip the warning. Threats, hate, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, doxxing, fraud, impersonation of Criccasm, and other illegal or seriously harmful conduct may result in immediate termination without any warning. A warning is a courtesy for ordinary first-time oversteps. It is not a right you can insist on where the conduct is serious or unlawful.
We may also, at our discretion:
- restrict features (commenting, roasting, uploads) while a review is underway;
- temporarily lock the account;
- block devices, identifiers, or related accounts used to evade a warning or a ban;
- preserve content, logs, IP addresses, and account records for investigation, as permitted by law and our Privacy Policy.
Terminated accounts may not re-register. Ban evasion is itself a violation and will be terminated on discovery without a further warning.
Criccasm’s determination that a violation occurred is made in our sole discretion, acting in good faith for the safety of the pavilion. We are not obliged to produce a full evidence file to the user except as required by law.
6. Legal action
A violation of these Guidelines is also a breach of the Terms & Conditions. In addition to removing content and terminating the account, we reserve the right to:
- take civil action against you, including claims for breach of contract, defamation, harassment, passing off, and intellectual-property infringement, and to seek injunctions, damages, and costs;
- report the conduct to law enforcement and/or a court of competent jurisdiction in India;
- cooperate with lawful requests from Indian authorities, including under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT Rules, 2021;
- preserve and, where lawfully required, disclose account and technical records.
Issuing a warning, delaying enforcement, or taking only platform action does not waive any legal right or remedy. All rights are reserved.
Nothing in these Guidelines limits the right of any person who is abused on the Service to pursue their own civil or criminal remedies against the poster. You remain personally liable for what you publish. Criccasm’s enforcement does not indemnify you.
7. Intermediary status and takedown
Criccasm operates as an online intermediary in respect of user-generated roasting, comments, and related content. We do not pre-approve every post. On actual knowledge of prohibited content, or on a court or government order, we will act to remove or disable access in line with applicable Indian law, including the IT Rules, 2021.
Users remain the authors of their own posts. Publication on Criccasm is not an endorsement by Criccasm or Technoavi.
8. Reporting and grievance
If you see a roast or comment that crosses these limits, report it in-app where the report control is available, or email hello@criccasm.com with:
- the handle;
- a link, screenshot, or precise description of the content;
- why it violates these Guidelines; and
- your contact details.
For a designated grievance under the IT Rules, 2021, use the same address with the subject line Grievance — Community Guidelines. We will acknowledge and act as reasonably practicable and as required by law.
9. Appeals
If your account is warned or terminated and you believe that action was a genuine error, you may appeal once by emailing hello@criccasm.com within seven (7) days of the action, with the subject Appeal — [your handle]. One appeal per action. Attach any material you say we missed. Our decision on the appeal is final for platform purposes and does not affect any legal rights you may have under Indian law.
An appeal is not a stay. A terminated account stays terminated unless we reverse the decision in writing.
10. Relationship to other documents
These Guidelines are incorporated into the Terms & Conditions. If there is a conflict on roasting, commenting, or user conduct, these Guidelines control that subject; the Terms control the remainder of the contract. The Privacy Policy controls how we handle personal data, including records we keep for enforcement.
11. Changes
We may update these Guidelines. The date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the Service after an update is acceptance of the revised Guidelines. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Guidelines are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless your local law requires otherwise. Subject to any non-excludable rights, disputes relating to these Guidelines may be brought in the courts of India.
